Southampton Vs Crystal Palace - 02 April 2025

Southampton have had a pretty forgettable season, rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and with hope of survival almost gone before we have even reached Easter. Worse still, they are yet to surpass Derby’s unwanted Premier League record low points total of 11. The Saints already appear to be planning for life in the Championship next season and their summer transfer plans, allegedly setting a £100m asking price for Tyler Dibling. The teenage winger has been a standout in what has been a diabolical season. It’s difficult to know what to expect from Southampton for the remainder of the season.

Crystal Palace in contrast will be on cloud nine after beating London rivals Fulham 3-0 in the FA Cup this weekend to secure a place at Wembley. Whether there will be some fatigue to contend with after such an emotive game on Saturday, we shall see. Glasner’s side have won 4 of their last 5 Premier League outings and will be further boosted with the Premier League return of star striker Mateta following his nasty injury suffered at Millwall.

Predictions:

I Predict: Southampton 1-4 Crystal Palace

Chat GPT Predicts: Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

Bournemouth vs Ipswich - 02 April 2025

Bournemouth vs Ipswich has the makings for an entertaining affair. You may recall earlier in the season at Portman Road during the reverse fixture, Ipswich thought they had claimed their first Premier League home win since promotion only for this to be snatched from them with two late goals from Bournemouth. It was a result which handed Bournemouth significant mid-season momentum.

In my opinion, some of Ipswich’s better performances have come away from home this season where there appears to have been more of an emphasis on defensive discipline and grinding out results. Performances at Villa, Spurs, Fulham and Brighton have all shown this.

For this reason, I can really see them picking up something at Bournemouth, perhaps the upset of the gameweek?

Predictions:

I Predict: Bournemouth 1-2 Ipswich

Chat GPT Predicts: Bournemouth 2-1 Ipswich

Brighton vs Aston Villa - 02 April 2025

Two sides right in the fight for European football next season. Brighton vs Aston Villa is one of the harder games to predict this match week. The first encounter between these sides this season was a thrilling 2-2 draw with Tariq Lamptey equalising late on.

Brighton suffered heartbreak this weekend, missing out on a second FA Cup Semi Final in 3 years with a penalty defeat to Nottingham Forest, on the contrast, Villa cruised through to Wembley with a 3-0 victory at Championship outfit Preston North End.

Despite victory at Brentford last time out, Villa’s away form has been inconsistent at best this season, winning just 5 of their 14 games away from Villa Park, conceding 27 goals along the way. Unai Emery’s high line could be punished with Brighton’s pace in behind with the likes of Mitoma and Minteh. I think they will get some joy here.

Predictions:

I Predict: Brighton 3-1 Aston Villa

Chat GPT Predicts: Brighton 2-2 Aston Villa
